The Domain

The domain name zabimaru.net was first purchased on the 17th of November in 2005 through GoDaddy. Zabimaru Network currently resides on a Surpass Hosting Reseller and has been since its humble beginnings.

In its first year of existence, Zabimaru.net served as a linkware graphics site, entitled Zabimaru Designs, owned by myself and several friends (known as the ZabiRangers). Due to differences of opinions and technical difficulties, Zabimaru Designs was closed down in late 2006, making it active for a little less than a full year. I then attempted to convert Zabimaru.net into a contest site, but after several months of no activity in 2007, Zabimaru.net simply became a redirect page to my online portfolio, Afterglow.

For much of 2008, Zabimaru.net continued to remain as a redirect page, but after much consideration, it was decided that Zabimaru.net would be used as a network and collective domain. The progress of this conversion began in the late spring and/or early summer of 2008. Due to lack of inspiration and a designer's block though, the site continued to remain inactive for all of April through July.

As of July 28, 2008, Zabimaru.net has been reborn and reestablished as Zabimaru Network, my, Megori, network and collective domain housing the links to all of my other websites as well as my current and future fanlistings.

Now, as for how the name Zabimaru was chosen, it's a rather simple explanation. A few years back, between 2004 to 2006, I was a really big fan of the manga series Bleach by Kubo Tite. Of all the characters in the series, my favorite was 6th Division's Vice Captain, Abarai Renji. Being the fanatical fangirl that I can be, I wanted a domain name that had something in relation to him. Zabimaru is the name of Renji's zanpakuto, which roughly translates into snake tail. Please excuse me for any errors I may have written about this series as it's been about two years since I was last interested in it.
